Summer Weather in Vancouver

The summer-time weather in Vancouver, Canada is mostly dry. Most frequently temperatures hover around 19 - 22°C (65 to 70°F).

A quick visit to Third Beach was perfect for cooling off on a hot day while walking around the Sea Wall in Stanley Park.

Many summers have a random week of rain and cooler temperatures somewhere in July or August, but most of the time it's hot, dry and sunny.

And the days are long. Near the summer solstice in June, there are less than 8 hrs between sunrise and sunset, with dusk lasting past 10pm. (This is when I always plan my Bard on the Beach trips, my favourite summer activity: Shakespeare plays performed under a big tent at Vanier Park.)

Summer is the perfect time to see the ‘outside sights’ like the Vancouver Aquarium (parts are air-conditioned and in-doors) or jump onto a ride at the Playland at the PNE.

Key items to remember: Bathing suit, summer dresses, shorts and sandals. A light sweater for cool evenings

Enjoying the summer weather in North Vancouver. Lynn Canyon Park is full of shady spots on a hot day.

Summer is beautiful in Vancouver, but if you’d rather avoid those vacationing crowds, consider coming in the Fall...

Watching others cross the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge. It wasn't very scary, though the bridge does sway back and forth, and is very high above the bottom of that canyon!
