About Me and Loving Vancouver
This site, Loving-Vancouver.com, holds the story of why I love Vancouver.
(Click here for ways to stay in touch!) I've traveled to Europe – wonderful art and architecture and lots of history - and to Asia – fascinating culture and great transit (in Hong Kong) - but Vancouver is still my favourite place. The pristine natural beauty, the stylish and quirky shops, the wide selection of ethnic restaurants and the socially conscious and accepting residents make this the perfect home and the perfect retreat. (I sound like a tourism ad ;-) It's so much easier to plan a day and to plan a trip when you have all the information you need at your fingertips. Plus the story of a real-live person who's been there and done that. I've lived in the Vancouver area nearly my entire life. And now, I am on a quest to find the perfect Vancouver things. The most fun things to do, the perfect place to go, the most relaxing spot to get away from it all.
And I want to share it with you. Hiding in the bushes at Lynn Canyon Park I love Vancouver, despite its faults (like any other city – I'll lay these out for you too, so you know what to avoid). Every time I travel somewhere else, I'm always so glad to come back home. Vancouver is a city of contrasts, where you can go from beach front to mountain top and from urban downtown to rural farms in just a few hours. My typical pose – camera in front of my face! A self-portrait by mirror at Granville Island, trying to decide whether to buy the necklace or not... This city has something for everyone. And this is my story of why I love Vancouver and what I love to do here.
Please send me any feedback, any questions and any stories about your time loving Vancouver. I look forward to hearing from you! Irene Kehler P.S. Come chat with me on Twitter and Facebook.
